Big Show, Big Business

Jitendra Kaushik, CEO, Onnyx Electronics: We are the country’s largest signaling company. We operate around 2500 traffic signals and manage the traffic of eight major cities in India. We managed to meet officials from the Traffic police and senior representatives from infrastructure companies. Our products were very well received and appreciated by the visitors. In fact, Delhi’s Joint Commissioner of Traffic was so impressed with our new products on display that he placed an order for the four-sided blinkers to be placed in 10 intersections.

Netrapal Singh, Manager- Industry Solutions, Phoenix Contact (I) Pvt Ltd: This was our first time at the Show and we are quite happy with the organisation of the Show and the visitors we have had. The visitors were from the relevant industries and the quality was quite good. Phoenix Contact is a German company which began its Indian operations in 1992. We have been serving the automation industry and in 2012 we launched our solutions division which focuses mainly on the urban infrastructure sector.

At the Show, the company demonstrated various solutions for control and protection applications for the industry at the Show. Many international players are bringing in the latest technologies to India. It would be good to see at the Show participation from more sectors such as tunnel management, airport infrastructure, more metro rail participation and waterways, which is one of the high thrust areas of the government.

Dhaval Desai, Managing Director, Trafitek Solutions Pvt Ltd: We first participated in TrafficInfraTech Expo in 2012. Since then a lot of improvements have happened, not only with TrafficInfraTech Expo, but also in the overall Indian ITS market. There have been conscious efforts by state governments and municipal bodies to put in place new systems, especially for law enforcement, traffic management and parking. We see a big market in the future.

TrafficInfraTech Expo is the only platform available for us currently where we can not only showcase our products but also strengthen our services in implementation and integration. We got many important visitors from the Delhi police, Municipal Corporation and Infrastructure companies and about 10-15 genuine enquiries which can definitely be converted into business, and in the ITS sector that is quite significant.
Arvind Devaraj, Head-Customer Solutions, Infrovate Consulting and Solutions Pvt Ltd: This was the first time that we participated at the Show and we are happy to be at the right place at the right time. The timing was good because we recently won the IHMCL tender for the east zone and then immediately we were exhibiting at TrafficInfraTech Expo where IHMCL was a visitor. It was a great opportunity for us since we were able to meet a lot of our premiere clients at the Expo like IL&FS, MEP, UMTC, Axis Bank etc. We got several new prospects that we hope to build into solid leads. We are also exploring several vendors that we met here for our different projects & partnering opportunities and building relationships. We usually do not get the opportunity to meet them and interact so extensively. So this Expo provides us such a forum and we are thankful to the organisers for this. The organisers’ team was very helpful.

Arvind Tewari, General Manager, Aabmatica Technologies Pvt Ltd: Aabmatica has partnerships with Italy and other countries. We have about 11,000 number plate cameras installed in India – entire Delhi, Maharashtra and Haryana. We displayed various types of number plate capturing cameras at the Show, which are used for speed violation and red light violation detection. All our solutions are certified by the Italian government and the Transport Departments in India. There has been a marked change in the awareness levels of the visitors as seen at the Show.

Earlier we would have to tell them what are the latest solutions, now they ask us questions about them. We interacted with quite a few international companies with whom we hope to have partnerships.
