Steradian’s Sensor Fusion Technology, which enables cameras and radars to be in sync, accurately captures vehicles that are in violation of traffic rules, even at the height of 1.8 metres (the height of most SUVs). Prasad Srinivasan, Director – Sales and Marketing, Renesas (formerly known as Steradian), discussed the uniqueness of the Sensor Fusion Technology, and emphasised that the company is already seeing a bigger roadmap for this innovative technology. A generation 3 system, which offers multi-lane free flow, minimises congestion at the toll plaza, and a free-flow environment on the lanes. He also discussed LogicMo’s Advanced Traffic Management System, which is combined with VIDS, VSDS and which can also generate an e-challan amongst other applications. Their backend algorithms are used for vehicle classification to enable automatic payment – solutions they are looking to expand for the urban domain, mainly parking.
