Crash Cushions / Impact Attenuators

Avantech Engineering Consortium Pvt Ltd offers Crash Cushions from Trinity Highway Products, USA. Crash cushions are energy absorbing devices that are fixed in front of ?black spots? on roads such as approaches to bridges, flyovers and toll plazas etc. to absorb an errant colliding vehicle?s kinetic energy and reduce the damage to the vehicle and occupants. Trinity crash cushions are performance tested to NCHRP-350, MASH and EN1317-3 standards. They are available in self restoring, restorable, repairable and low reusability options.

REACT-350 is a self-restoring type of crash cushion that meets the requirements of NCHRP-350 for speeds up to 100kmph. Energy is absorbed through compression of cylinders made of special plastic that has the capability to come back to its original position in the event of an impact and ready for next impact without requiring major repairs in most cases.

TRACC is a repairable type of crash cushion that meets the requirements of NCHRP-350 for speeds up to 100kmph. Energy is absorbed by cutting of sacrificial plates at bottom of the system and repairs mostly require replacement of these plates or side panels if the panels have also been impacted. Proprietary Attenuators have now been specified in MoRTH specifications for Road and Bridge works under clause 814.3.
