UNION BUDGET RESPONSE – Aakash Sinha

Aakash Sinha Chief Executive Officer – Toll Systems & ITS Tecsidel India Pvt. Ltd

Union Budget FY 22-23 in terms of Toll, Roads and Highways

Since Toll and ITS has a good amount of share in the new road networks and highways getting built-up, we as an Industry, are very confident in our growth and as Tecsidel, being one of the leaders in Toll and ITS. We also feel confident in the growth  of our business in tolling and Advance Traffic Management System as the increase in the road networks and highways positively impacts our business. The more highways are built, the more technology deployed and the more share we have for our industry.
As compared to the last budget, this budget is highly progressive in terms of Tecsidel’ s business market as there’s a hike of ₹81,006 crore.
Of the 35 multi-modal logistics parks the government plans across the country, four will be awarded in the next fiscal which is looking bright for Tecsidel as Tecsidel is already expanding its horizons and entering logistics and parking solutions as well.
The FM Nirmala Sitharaman said that the PM Gati Shakti Master Plan for Expressways will be formulated in 2022-23 to facilitate the faster movement of people and goods. Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari is also very keen for Toll free Highways (Free Flow Solutions where there will be no physical toll Plazas and no stoppage). Tecsidel, being a leader in Free flow, sees a huge business potential in this segment as well.
The gist of the budget is that increase & development of highways and logistics parks definitely means a boost in tolling and parking & logistics solutions which in turn means a high flow of business towards our Tolling and ITS Industry and we are already a part of this.
