Manoj Banerjee, Vice President, DIMTS Ltd was at the show since DIMTS is into transportation and traffic solutions. “This show is relevant to our company,” he said. “The profile of visitors that we got here was the profile we were looking at–traffic police, people from road transport corporations, etc. We are happy with the show as it is organised well and the facilities provided are first class.” His colleague Ashish Chatterjee added, “It’s the right platform to brand our products since experts from the fields we work in are all here.”
Mindtree Ltd, a software company specialising in video based operations focuses on traffic surveillance, traffic safety and traffic management, and has created solutions like video based license plate recognition system, automatic vehicle classification, counting system, and traffic violation evidence management system. Anirban Majumder, its Senior Director (Business Development) said, “We were primarily looking at visitors from government departments like NHAI, PWD, road transport corporations, and also concessionaires like L& T and GMR. We also wanted people from complimentary technology providing companies. Luckily, we got them all here. It has been a very good show for us. We will definitely be back.”
The Government sector was a segment many exhibitors were aiming to introduce their products and services to. VIS had specially focused in that area so as not to disappoint the exhibitors. Their satisfaction at having met their target group made all the difference. Said Amit Singh, Vice President – Highway Systems, Metro Infrasys Pvt Ltd, “Since RFID is a new technology approved by NHAI, we were looking at the government sector because the technology is yet to reach the masses. We wanted to update our customer about RFID being a cheaper solution for tolls, parking, etc and were targeting senior officers from NHAI and Road Transport. We got them. We are also happy that Traffic Chiefs of different states came to the show.” Singh was of the view that TrafficInfraTech Expo was professionally managed “when compared with the others”.
Rish Malhotra, International Road Dynamics, South Asia (a 100% subsidiary of Indian arm of Canadian company) gave the show a thumbs up. “We have gone through some changes in our organisation here and we wanted to send out the message to our customers, partners, distributors and the government that we are still in the market here. This was a great forum to do so. We had the mandate to meet our customers, concessionaires, clients, customers and partners at the show, and we have been doing that successfully. The show was well organised and had a very good participation. We really enjoyed being a part of your show. We look forward to your next edition.”
Melvyn Haxby, Sales Director, Iteris Incorporated, a company located in USA, said in a delighted tone, “We wish to look for new opportunities in India because our products are very well suited for this market. Video Detection, which improves the traffic flow with its ground sensors, is ideally suited for Indian market. India is expanding. Iteris is very well placed to bring certain latest operations to India.” He found the show “wonderful”.
Kamal Mittal, Director, Aktion Safety Pvt Ltd a company into road safety equipment for traffic speed breakers and road studs said, “We participated because we wanted government department officials, PWD, and traffic police to see our products. We are happy because quality visitors came to our stall. We will definitely participate in your next show.”
Dharmendra Kumar Dixit, Senior Manager (Marketing) of Pune’s Agogue Terchnologies Pvt Ltd, on the other hand was keen to meet the distributors of North India. “We have had them as visitors and we are very happy.” His company manufactures and supplies tracking devices.
Neelkamal Ltd, a reputed name in the field of plastics, has started a new division a few months ago in road safety products. Jayant Navre, General Manager (Marketing) of the company, said, “This is a very important show for us. We are happy that police officers from all over the country have come here. I met visitors from Ghaziabad, UP, Bihar and Delhi who came to understand about products on traffic management. They saw specific products like well designed water-fillable barricades that help avoid accidents. We are very happy and satisfied, and are looking at a wide angle from this exhibition onwards to do lot of activity in road safety products.”
Said Kiran Pangaonkar, Director, BD Industries, another company into road furniture and safety products, “We supply our products mainly to government bodies and police department. We participated mainly to promote our business on the north side of Delhi, Bihar, UP and other states. We received excellent response. The ‘cream’ of people visited the stalls and good enquiries were floated. That makes us absolutely happy.”
It wasn’t just the traffic and transport related companies and agencies only that participated in the show but even cleaning industries like Best Practices Washrooms (BPW) too placed their confidence in the show and exhibited their solutions. Sanvinder Dhillon, its Regional Head Hygiene Management –North), said, “BPW is basically into hygiene and sanitation solutions for corporate houses and general areas. We are here because we understand that washroom is a part and parcel of each and every industry. We wanted to reach out to a newer industry segment. We have got a very good response here. The visitor profile has been very good – we had people from government sector – they really liked our products and the concepts as well –and also the product sector.” BPW kept the venue washrooms clean for the three days of the show.
