This show has been very beneficial for my business and I am able to be competitive.”

Sunil Jindal, Chief General Manager, Road Safety, NHAI, the experience was very good. He was looking for road safety products like metal beam crash barriers and lining. “The expo will definitely have a great impact on the industry because all the products which are available in India are under one roof and a lot of people, all the stakeholders in this industry are visiting this expo and getting the benefits of the products.”

Launch of New Sensor based Cameras

S.Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, opened the Day 3 of the Smart Mobility Conference on ITS and V2X

Three Indigenously developed technologies, i.e., CMOS Sensor based Camera for Industrial Vision Application(iViS), Thermal Sensor based Camera for Intelligent Transportation System-(TvITS) and Online Sucro Crystal Imaging System (OSIS) were launched at the 11th Traffic Expo and Smart Mobility Conference by the Secretary, Meity in the presence of Group Coordinator R&D in E&IT, MeitY, Sunita Verma and Editor-in-chief, TrafficInfratech, Mangala Chandran and senior officials of the Government & Industry. The technologies have been developed under the Intelligent Transportation System Endeavour for Indian Cities initiative of the Ministry.

In a brief Interview with TrafficInfraTech, S. Krishnan said that the three sensor based cameras used for different purposes are created by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), at Trivandrum, which is a unit under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

“One is a regular traffic monitoring camera which is currently extensively imported into the country. It supports AI based applications employing Machine learning and Deep Learning Techniques. The second is a thermal imaging camera for road traffic applications., and has extensive uses in surveillance, defence, security operations, and the third is an industrial camera which checks the size of sugar crystals for the sugar industry but is capable of being adapted for use across different industrial applications.
