Tata Motors recently launched Tata Indigo e-CS VX, a sedan with a mileage of 25km / litre. The car, powered by a CR4 Common Rail Diesel Engine, incorporates some new technological advances which make this possible. It has a Smart EMS (Engine Management System) chip that calibrates engine components every microsecond to achieve optimum performance of various systems – valve timings, air-fuel compression ratios and pressure-volume ratios – to name a few. The car’s fuel delivery system has an effective intake and circulation of charge (the air-fuel mixture) due to an optimally designed engine head, block and piston assembly, a system that delivers maximum charge combustion, and increases efficiency and power.
