Steria organises roundtable on transportation needs in India

Steria (India) Ltd, the Indian arm of Paris headquartered IT Solutions and Services company, Steria, organised a roundtable conference in Mumbai on ?Modern Approach to 21st Century Transport Challenges?.

The aim was to attain a thought leadership position on Steria?s point of view on achieving operational efficiency with optimised transport systems amongst policymakers at all levels in the Indian transport sector.

John Torrie, CEO of Steria UK and Vera Jin, CEO of Steria Singapore who had specially flown down to Mumbai for the roundtable, mingled with the stakeholders to understand the travel requirements in India and present the transport solutions of the company with an emphasis on a Case Study of Singapore. Infrastructure companies like Larsen & Toubro, Gammon India and KMC Construction, Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, Advisors to Maharashtra Government on transport policies, fleet car owners, and many other stakeholders shared their experiences, challenges and solutions.

Steria Singapore is a major transport success story which the company intends to repeat in India though the Indian conditions and transport culture pose bigger challenges. Torrie, in a frank tete-a-tete, said the company was keen to learn about the transport requirements in India so that Steria?s footprint in solutions for safe, sustainable and intelligent transport management could be institutionalised. The Roundtable was the beginning of a series of initiatives in India by Steria, he said. Sanjiv Verma, CEO and Sachdev Ramakrishna, Director ? Marketing represented Steria?s Indian team.
