Road development in Manipur

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways  Nitin Gadkari  has &inaugurated and laid foundation stone for 16 National Highway Projects in Manipur with an investment of Rs 4,148 crores covering total length of 298 kms under the Bharatmala Phase ll.  The projects will provide all weather connectivity to Manipur with the rest of the country and the neighbouring countries. The projects are expected to boost agricultural, industrial & socio-economic progress of the region and also help   health care and emergency service to reach remote areas. The Minister said water, power, transport and communication would be given priority.

The Minister also inaugurated recently the country’s first private LNG Facility in Nagpur, emphasising the importance of alternate biofuels for diversification of agriculture towards energy and power sector. The government has designed a policy   that encourages development of imports substitute cost effective pollution free and indigenous ethanol, bio CNG, LNG and hydrogen fuels.
