Online Speed Radar at Chandigarh

In a major development to aware the drivers on road to reign in their speed within the prescribed speed limit, Chandigarh Traffic Police has installed online speed sensing radar. The main objective of the installed radar on the dividing road near Sector 9 and 10 is to control over-speeding vehicles that lead to major collisions resulting in fatal accidents.

The online speed radar is an interactive digital signboard which displays the speed of the approaching vehicles. It reads ‘slow down’ when the speed crosses the prescribed speed limit. The installed online speed radar is a 40-inch digital screen that will tell the driver their present speed. If the speed crosses the prescribed limit the radar prefixed with night vision camera will automatically click the image of the over-speeding car and send it to the Traffic Headquarters in Chandigarh. Thus the violator will be liable for legal action as an e-challan will be sent to his residence.
