The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority has signed an agreement with Japan International Cooperation Agency for the disbursement of the first tranche of `7,910 Cr for the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link. According to UPS Madan, Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA, the contractors for the project have been shortlisted and they have been issued Request for Proposal for the execution of the project. The consortium of M/s AECOM-DARPADECO- T.Y. Lin have been appointed as General Consultants for the project.
The 22-km long Link from the sea front at Sewri to Nhava will lead to the development of Raigad District and its surrounding areas. It will facilitate easy and faster connectivity to Mumbai, Panvel, Pune and even to South India.
