MMR to get elevated corridor

The state government has envisaged an elevated corridor of 21 km—probably one of the longest ones in the world—in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The flyover is considered as the first step towards building the multi-crore Mumbai-Nagpur super-highway that will start near Kalyan. The state government and the Centre have jointly decided to construct a six-lane Mumbai-Nagpur super-highway at a cost of more than Rs 35,000Cr, which promises to facilitate travel between the two cities in 11 hours.
