MMRDA’s Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) project connecting the Western and Eastern Express highways is nearing completion and the agency expects to open it to the public quite soon. The link road, as it exists today, is a two-lane carriageway which is inadequate for commuting. MMRDA is widening it to a six-lane divided carriageway with a right-of-way of about 35 metres.
The 10.3km link road is divided into three sections: Section 1 – a 4.9km stretch from Western Express Highway to Saki-Vihar Road junction near Larsen & Toubro Powai Works; Section 2 – a 4.3km stretch from Saki-Vihar Road junction to LBS Marg junction, and Section 3 – a 1.10km stretch from LBS Marg junction to Eastern Express Highway.
