ITS America and ITS Tennessee are hosting ITS America?s 23rd Annual Meeting and Exposition from April 22-24, 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee. The summit?s theme this year is ?Real Progress ? Great Future? and will focus on the results of deployment of ITS technologies thus far across the United States, and what needs to be done further for creating a efficient, sustainable and safe connected transportation system across the country. Among the topics that will be explored include solutions for easing traffic congestion, financing the nation?s transportation system, advancing life-saving vehicle technologies. It will also showcase ITS innovations being implemented across the USA in various areas such as connected vehicle technology, intelligent traffic signals, advanced traffic and incident management systems, electronic tolling and pricing systems, smart mobility applications, real-time traffic, transit, and navigation and parking information. Senior officials from the US DOT (Department of Transportation) across the country will make presentations on the ITS Strategic Plan and the latest developments in highway, transit and safety programmes. The summit will also offer an opportunity of transportation professionals to register for training courses on ITS related subjects conducted by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Further, participants will also be able to hear from and provide inputs to Congressional policymakers instrumental in making laws relating to transportation and related technologies.
