Efkon wins ITS and tolling contracts

Efkon India, a subsidiary of the Austria-based Efkon Group, has recently received tolling and ITS contracts worth `430m. The first contract from Maruti Suzuki includes installing tracking boxes and backend solutions in 3,000 trucks. The second contract from Oriental Structural Engineers is for providing a complete ITS solution for the Nagpur Bypass project which includes Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) for 117km and integrated semi-automatic toll system with a 44-lane WIM (weigh-in-motion) system. Two other contracts are repeat contracts – to provide toll systems to the Malaysian concessionaire IJM for its Rewa Tollways project in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh and to provide toll operation and maintenance services for its Vijayawada-Chilakaluripet Road Project in Andhra Pradesh. Another contract with the Jaypee Group is to provide a complete toll management solution for the Yamuna Expressway project. Efkon’s solution will serve 129 toll lanes across three main toll plazas and seven ramp toll plazas on the interchange loop of the expressway.
