Recently, Avery Dennison participated in an event in Tanzanian organized by The International Road Federation (IRF) Geneva, together with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the African Union (AU), and the Tanzanian Ministry of Works, Transport and Communication. The regional seminar was titled ‘Fast Tracking Road Safety Initiatives in Africa: An Inescapable Necessity.’
One of the major reasons of road accidents is the lack of reflectives on the roads including reflective signage and road furniture, and big vehicles which are not visible at night. Signages definitely act as effective road safety tools but one more area which generally gets ignored is the vehicle conspicuity. Speeding cars on the highway need conspicuous objects for the driver to react and take decisions on road. The reflective technology here plays an important role. Conspicuity Tape is an economical solution and can be implemented at a very low cost and the outcome is priceless, i.e., human safety.
