The Serco Group has been awarded a contract for the operation and maintenance of the Indore BRTS. The contract has been awarded by the Atal Indore City Transport Services Ltd. (AICTSL), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) set up to manage the BRTS, and owned by the Indore Development Authority and Indore Municipal Corporation. Serco will operate a fleet of 50 low-floor and air-conditioned buses, in addition to managing the operations control centre and a dedicated depot. Serco has been providing traffic management services in the UK, Australia, Middle East and US. In the UK, It also operates the Dockland Light Railway and the Barclays Cycle Hire Scheme in London, and in the Middle East it operates the Dubai Metro, the world’s longest driverless train system.
