Service lanes for Punjab highways

The Punjab government is planning to build service lanes along all state and national highways in the state. The service lanes would ensure that nobody has direct access to the highways and thus ensure additional security. All major cities of the state will be linked by four-lane and six-lane roads. The government has also directed the Punjab PWD to ensure that the minimum distance between the highways and the buildings coming up along them was maintained.
