Two Cycle Superhighways in London

Transport for London (TfL) has launched two Barclays cycle superhighways from Merton to the City and Barking to Tower Gateway. This has been done to encourage more number of people to use cycle to travel to their workplace. The two routes are the first set of 12 planned superhighways which will have clearly marked continuous cycle routes into Central London. Installed with highly visible blue cycle lanes, both the superhighways have 37 cycle safety mirrors at junctions to give drivers a clear view of the cyclists while taking a turn. There are also 84 new advanced stop lines at junctions along both the routes and a space for cyclists to wait at traffic lights ahead of the queue of traffic.
