Traffex succeeds expectations

TrafficInfraTech was media partner at the Traffex, Parkex and Street Design 2011 show held at NEC, Birmingham in March. Sustainability was the main theme of the show that celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. Dedicated to traffic management, parking and urban design, the show was inaugurated by Norman Baker, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State Transport who focused on the government’s goal through the catchwords – “creating growth, cutting carbons”. He stressed upon the need for help from the transport industry for realising these goals.

The show brought together the transport industry from all over the world. The latest products and services were on display for three days and the industry shared its experience in adopting new ideas and best practices at various forums. Prominent speakers including experts from the Dft, Highway Agency, Siemens Mobility, Mouchel, the British Parking Association, the Landscape Institute and English Heritage shared their views at 28 seminars held in two theatres.

Traffex was attended by over 9,000 professionals and had 450 exhibitors. Dennis Robertson from TRL was awarded at the show for developing TRANSYT and SCOOT software and Kim Heglung of Lattix for pioneering the development of the Lattix passive safety post. TrafficInfraTech magazine too was a participant. Its stall attracted many professionals and industry experts who wanted to know about the magazine and even subscribe to it. The magazine received rave reviews and its content was well appreciated by the international audience.
