The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) may have to depend a lot on the PPP model for executing its infrastructure projects. The budget has proposed that 64 km of roads to be built at a cost of `1,000 crore be based on the PPP model. Pune has an annual budget of `4,167 crore for 2013-14, but with limited revenue options, has been facing problems with funding its developmental plans. According to the civic administration, the PMC will require `25,000cr to implement Development Plan (DP) for the old city area. This plan will be for a duration of 20 years (2007-2027) with special provision for the Pune metro rail, a transport hub, expansion of main roads, housing schemes for the needy and cluster development of old dilapidated ?wadas?.
