New Licence Plate Detection technology

Image Sensing System (ISS), a US-based provider of above-ground detection and information management services for the ITS sector, has introduced a new rapid licence plate recognition technology, CitySync. CitySync uses a fast, accurate automatic licence plate recognition (ALPR) engine which reads a licence plate many times using multiple advanced methods for optical character recognition and detection of each plate. The technology has been shown to work by many municipalities with vehicles travelling at speeds as high as 120mph, and reads a higher number of licence plates than other licence plate recognition systems. Applications include traffic enforcement and parking and security access applications.
