The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is expected to submit the detailed project report (DPR) for Nagpur Metro Railway by October. The surveys for preparing the DPR, which began this May and were completed by July, were of five types: Junction, screen line, outer cordon, parking and door-to-door. In its project report, the DMRC will recommend the routes for the first phase of the Metro. It will also suggest stretches where the metro could be elevated, and constructed underground or at ground level, and calculate the tentative cost of the first phase. Other details that would be included in the DPR would be location of metro rail stations, amenities to be provided at these stations and feeder bus services. The DMRC will also suggest a financial model for making the project viable. The Nagpur Metro project is being financed by Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT), Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) and the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO). Long term soft loans from international agencies will also be used to raise funds.
