Creating healthy business environment will be possible only when the administrative machinery is efficient. India has been very stringent when it comes to procedural and regulatory clearances. A business-friendly environment will be created only if India can signal easier approval of projects and set up hasslefree clearance mechanism. So when it came to setting up the manufacturing unit, we chose Ahmedabad in Gujarat, as we experienced the complete eco system here showcasing what we always wanted: ‘The Change’. Not only are we equidistant from New Delhi and Mumbai but we also have a sea port at a distance of just 400km. There is absolutely no interference of the trade unions, no deficiency of electricity, and no corruption. Coupled with all this strategic location, it had the complete support of a businessfriendly government.
The ‘Make in India’ campaign will be constantly compared with ‘Made in China’ campaign. China is dominant when it comes to mass production but when it comes to customization, we in India hold the edge. We have identified customisation, reliability, affordable pricing and after sales support as the four focal point of our vision. So we have partnered with India’s premiere Research Institute, ARAI, Pune for our R&D growth. Together we are sanguine that we can bring forth solutions that are ‘Made by Indians’ and ‘Made for Indian conditions’.
The advantages of a Made in India product signifies that our team is here for them to provide after sales service and provide affordable pricing for a customised solution. We have developed a complete ecosystem of ancillary spare parts units in and around Ahmedabad. Starting from metal work to customised PCB Board manufacturing, we have been able to make a trusted network of suppliers. Our own manufacturing unit is located 15km from the city centre and employs a dedicated work force of 27. All our supervisors hold a BE/ BTech degree and relevant years of industry experience. Most important is our Quality Control for which we adhere to ISO 9001:2008 standards.
India’s small and medium-sized industries can play a big role in making the country take the next big leap in manufacturing. But we lack incubators and specialised government funding for Small & Medium Scale businesses. I remember having studied the Chief Scientists Office in Israel diligently choosing few start-ups and then not only giving them a grant but also mentoring them. I wish to see more like it in our country, our India.
