Jharkhand to get Rs 55,000Cr for road projects

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of India proposes to spend Rs 50,000Cr to increase road connectivity and highways in Jharkhand in the next two and a half years. There is also a proposal to construct a bridge across the Ganga river at Sahibganj to link Manihari. The Centre will help to complete the Ranchi-Jamshedpur four lane road by spending Rs 1,000Cr through NHAI.

Jharkhand will be benefited by the 1630km inland waterways project from Varanasi to Haldia. Ganga has around 50-km stretch in Jharkhand. A multi-modal hub on the Ganga with railway, road and water connectivity is coming up at Sahibganj, which will boost exports.
