In collaboration with Trafficinfratech magazine, ITS India Forum conducted a webinar on May 10 to define the outline of various stakeholder Committees’ terms of reference, timelines, key deliverables, and structure and ensure effective communication and collaboration among all the members.
More than 15 specialized committees were formed as recommended by the members comprising 100 plus domain experts & policy makers from industries, academia, government organizations & Ministries.
ITS India Forum is a non-government Think Tank of ITS industries, academia, researchers, policymakers, government entities, users, and experts. Its vision is to optimize the transportation network, improve efficiency, and reduce logistics costs by applying emerging technologies, thus forging a path toward India’s transformation into a developed nation by 2047.
The background stems from rising safety concerns, congestion, uncertainties, increasing transportation complexities, and high logistics costs. Despite substantial government efforts in transportation infrastructure, the average transportation speed in India is 50% lower than in developed nations, whereas crashes and costs are higher. The rapidly growing applications of AI, ML, IoT, Cameras, Sensors, ADAS, 5G, Telematics, Cloud Computing, etc., can quickly solve these problems.
Niti Aayog has entrusted ITS India Forum with the task of evaluating the new comprehensive National ITS Policy Framework and providing new perspectives in consultation with industry, academia, researchers, and users. Also to be added are global benchmarks and best industry practices to develop an integrated and comprehensive policy framework encompassing the different verticals of the Intelligent Transport System.
ITS India Forum has involved stakeholders from different verticals of the ITS Ecosystem to harness the best domain expertise.
