India’s most successful integrated show on traffic moves to Mumbai

TrafficInfraTech Expo is back. This time, in Mumbai. The Expo that proved to be the most successful integrated Show on traffic last year, promises to be yet another record-breaking show this year as well. The organisers, Virtual Info Systems and Italy’s Fierabolzano & Afidamp Servizi srl, are leaving no stone unturned to put together a show that will give every exhibitor, visitor and supporter positive aspects to take back home.

The Show has already received support from MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority), MSRDC (Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation), KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation), CRRI (Central Road Research Institute), APSA (Asian Professional Security Association) and FSAI (Fire and Security Association of India).

TrafficInfraTech Expo will bring all the national and international stakeholders, decision makers/enforcement authorities, Non Governmental Organisations and national & international luminaries associated with traffic under one roof. Countries like the UK, USA, Italy, Canada, Germany, Australia, Dubai, Croatia, China and Belgium will showcase products/systems, technologies and solutions at the show. Officers from ministries and government departments, traffic police, enforcement authorities, transport departments and companies will either be visiting, participating or exhibiting at the show.

Most of the companies that exhibited at India’s most famous and successful traffic show of 2011 at Delhi last year, are back in its second edition.

MMRDA: It is the highest policy making body of the Government of Maharashtra (one of the most progressive states of India). The Authority is responsible for the infrastructure development of 4,354.50km of Mumbai Metropolitan Region and is the force behind Mumbai’s upcoming Mumbai Metro and Monorail projects. It has recently passed a budget of र4,825 crore for the year 2012-13.

MSRDC: A public limited company formed to plan, develop, build and maintain integrated select roads in Maharashtra, the MSRDC is fully owned by the Government of Maharashtra. It also develops and maintains projects of flyovers, light rail transit, sea links, toll collection and water transport. India’s first Expressway – Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the now world famous Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Mumbai’s 55 flyovers and many integrated road projects are among its many achievements.

KSRTC: A fully owned transport body of Government of Karnataka with the Government of India being a shareholder in it, the KSRTC is a strong example of the right way to run public transport bodies successfully. Introducing Volvo and Mercedes buses in its service, serving 92% of Karnataka’s villages and 44% of other areas, a fleet of 7011 buses and transporting about 24.57 lakh passengers a day are among some of its achievements.

CRRI: A constituent of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the CRRI is a Government of India body responsible for carrying out research and development projects on design, construction and maintenance of roads and runways. It also plans traffic and transportation aspects of mega and medium cities and handles management of roads in different terrains, improvement of marginal materials, utilisation of industrial waste in road construction, landslide control, ground improvements environmental pollution, road traffic safety and analysis & design.

APSA: A non-profit international organisation of security professionals and practitioners, APSA provides educational forums, publications and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill and professional growth of its members.

FSAI: A non-profit trade body and the chamber of commerce of the Fire Protection, Safety and Security engineering services industry in India, FSAI acts as a catalyst for the growth of fire protection, safety and security services including the safety equipment manufacturing industry in India.
Three seminars have been scheduled at the Expo. The topics: ‘Traffic Management & Safety during highway Construction’, ‘Challenges in making the operations of State Road Transport Undertakings efficient: Policies, Management & Technologies’ and ‘The need for, challenges in and advantages of achieving Unified ITS solutions for Highway & Urban Traffic In India’.
