Gurgaon-Manesar Urban Plan unveiled

The Haryana government has unveiled the Final Development Plan for the Gurgaon-Manesar Complex. The area measuring 32,088 hectares is expected to cater to about 42.5 lakh people by 2031. Out of this area about 4,428 hectares have been reserved for transport and communication purposes. Apart from this a total of 16,021 hectares has been reserved for residential areas, 1,616 hectares for commercial and 4,613 hectares for industrial use. New 90m wide roads will be built to connect Gurgaon and Delhi. Metro connectivity will also be expanded in the region. The existing Delhi-Gurgaon link will be extended up to Manesar while another Metro loop will be added to the existing network. The plan also envisages another Mass Rapid Transit System Corridor along a 150-metre-wide northern link road to Delhi. The provision for road infrastructure includes wide inter-city and intra-city roads.
