The first session of the day focused on the regulation, enforcement & infrastructure needs of a Smart city in India. Anil Shukla, Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police, Traffic spoke on how technologies such as ICTcan help in better traffic monitoring and safety. While, Pankaj Som Chaturvedi, Expert (Asian Development Bank), spoke on how ICT can be leveraged for road safety. Balraj Bhanot, Management Consultant, Chairman TEDC (BIS) and Former Director ARAI, dwelled on the suitability of vehicles for smart cities and technologies for vehicle tracking and safety.

The second session on “Mass Transport can bring in lifestyle changes” was addressed by Vivek B. Gadgil, Chief Executive & Managing Director, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited, Sirish Batchu, Head – Infotronics Technology and Advance Electronics, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and Vivekanand, Country Director, Barco Electronic Systems (P) Ltd.

Also, there were some interesting presentations on ITS and Predictive Adaptive Urban Traffic management, integrated IT solutions and video detection solutions enabling digitization of public transport. The presentations were made by Nilanjan Chakravortty, General Manager-Traffic, CMS Computers Ltd, David Moszkowicz, Managing Director, LumiplanITS India Private Limited, Jeevit Vashishtha, Business Development Manager – ITS, FLIR Intelligent Transportation Systems and Ravi Prakash Gupta, Head Information Technology, DIMTS.

The seminar on Vehicle Telematics brought together on same platform experts such as Kalyan Deep K. Scientist/Engineer – SD, National Remote Sensing Centre, ISRO, Sunil Mahajan, Senior VP, Purchase & Logistics, Lafarge India Pvt. Ltd, Sudhir Gopalakrishna, COO and Founder, Goods Mover Technologies and Rishin Kalra, Assistant Vice President,MapmyIndia.
