Afcons Infrastructure is most likely to be awarded the contract for constructing the second phase of the Barapullah elevated road in Delhi, after having emerged as the lowest bidder. The second phase will see the elevated road being extended till the INA market on Aurobindo Marg and will also merge with the surface level there. An additional elevated loop will allow motorists to exit the elevated road to the opposite side carriageway of Aurobindo Marg. In Phase II more slip roads will be constructed to allow people to enter and exit the elevated road from more places. It will also ease traffic congestion on various roads and will act as link connecting national highways NH-24 and NH-8. Estimated to cost ?385 crore, the project will give relief to 40,000 to 50000 commuters every day.
