New funding norms for Metro projects

The Urban Development Ministry is considering a proposal to relax the population criterion for Metro rail projects, given the increasing demand for Metro projects in the country. Currently, Metro projects are approved for cities with population of 20 lakh or more. The new proposal would reduce this to 10 lakh.
