The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) and its Transportation Officials Division (TOD) is all set to organise the first ever virtual conference and innovation showcase for the transportation industry using the latest digital technologies. LōTRANS 2012 (Transportation Asset Management Virtual Conference & Innovation Showcase) will be held from September 18-20, enabling transportation professionals and thousands of US city and county government officials managing about $50 billion in transportation projects, engineering and traffic services to attend the conference from their desktops, offices and homes. The conference will highlight the latest and best practices in work zone safety and asset management. LōTrans 2012 is a modern day, virtual version of the popular, annual conference “Local Transportation Issues Conference.” held by the ARTBA TOD for 30 years till the early 1990s when ever-tightening budgets and travel restrictions brought it to a close. With LōTRANS 2012 any transportation official, anywhere in the world, with an internet-equipped computer or laptop will be able to fully participate, simply by logging in. The technology for the virtual conference and innovation showcase, provided by 6Connex will bring together seamlessly in real time, over ultra-high speed feeds, the latest computer animation, live, streaming video and interactive chat room networking.
