Your systems/technology for Intelligent Mobility

Our AI-powered dashcams equipped with onboard processing capabilities capture and analyze traffic violations, monitor driver behavior, and assess road infrastructure in real-time. These dashcams generate actionable insights from visual data, enabling better enforcement of traffic rules and contributing to safer roads. This directly aligns with the government’s National Road Safety Policy, which emphasizes reducing accidents and improving road safety.

Nayan’s AI-based app for smartphones captures traffic violations and road conditions through crowd-sourced data, processed locally on the device without the need for external servers. This democratizes road monitoring, engaging everyday citizens in creating safer roads while enabling governments to enforce traffic laws more effectively. This solution supports the government’s Smart City Mission by providing a scalable, decentralized approach to urban traffic management.

The comprehensive AI and ML-based solution monitors traffic violations, road infrastructure, and driver behavior, providing municipalities and road authorities with vital data. This system allows city planners to make informed decisions about traffic management, road maintenance and urban infrastructure development, which is crucial for the National Urban Transport Policy and Smart City Mission.

Dashcam systems integrate with EV fleets, providing vehicle operators with real-time feedback to enhance fleet performance, reduce emissions, and ensure driver safety. These solutions are in line with the FAME II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) initiative, helping India transition to cleaner, smarter electric mobility. By focusing on scalable, data-driven, and AI-powered solutions, we envision contributing significantly to India’s mobility ecosystem, creating safer, more efficient roads while supporting the government’s broader goals for sustainable, smart urban transportation.

Innovations and improvements to suit Indian requirements

We have developed affordable hardware to ensure that our technology can be adopted even in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, making road safety improvements more accessible. In regions with limited internet connectivity, the dashcams process data locally, allowing uninterrupted operation in rural and semi-urban areas. The mobile app uses on-device AI to crowdsource real-time data on traffic violations and road conditions, processed without the need for constant cloud connectivity. The app performs AI calculations on the phone itself, making it functional even in low-connectivity areas, which is crucial given India’s varied internet infrastructure. Leveraging India’s massive smartphone user base, we have created a decentralized monitoring system, empowering citizens to contribute to road safety and improve enforcement efficiency.

An AI-powered system is designed to monitor complex traffic patterns, road infrastructure, and driver behavior in real-time, tailored to India’s mixed traffic environments. Unlike systems designed for orderly, lane-based traffic, our solution is optimized for India’s unique mix of vehicles, pedestrians, and erratic driving behaviors. It monitors conditions across urban and rural areas, addressing challenges like potholes, poor lighting, and road quality variations. The system’s modular design allows Indian cities to adopt it incrementally, making it feasible even for smaller municipalities.

A gamification platform integrated into the app encourages users to report traffic violations and road hazards, rewarding them for their contributions. By rewarding users with points and recognition for reporting violations, we promote public involvement in improving road safety. This system fosters a community-driven approach to road safety, allowing citizens to become active participants in traffic law enforcement and road maintenance.

Implementation Challenges

Many cities rely on outdated systems, making it difficult to fully integrate new smart technologies quickly. Varying state regulations and privacy laws can complicate implementation, requiring customized solutions for each region. Lack of public knowledge and engagement may slow adoption of crowd-sourced data collection and gamification platforms. Users and governments may have concerns about data security, which could create resistance. Ensuring consistent updates and repairs, especially in remote areas, remains a logistical challenge.

New systems/technology in the offing

We are developing next-generation AI dashcam that utilises advanced machine learning algorithms for more accurate traffic violation detection and driver behavior analysis, improved real-time processing capabilities for instant alerts on unsafe driving practices, enhanced night vision and low-light performance to ensure reliability in all conditions and integration with vehicle systems for comprehensive monitoring.

Development of a comprehensive IoT-based platform to monitor and manage fleets of vehicles, focusing on safety, efficiency, and maintenance is another development. Features include real-time monitoring of vehicle health, road and traffic violations, and driver performance.

We are working on integrating ADAS functionalities into our dashcams, providing drivers with real-time alerts and assistance to enhance safety. Features include lane departure warnings, collision detection, blind spot monitoring and integration with mobile apps to provide feedback on driving behavior and safety tips.

Nayan has over 70+ patents filed for in various jurisdictions across the world including India, United States, Europe and others out of which around 35 are already granted to Nayan.
