Accelerating Intelligent Mobility in India TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS

AI-powered Traffic Management Systems

Avinash Trivedi, VP Business Development, Videonetics says the Company focuses on innovation to create cutting-edge, cyber-secure and artificial intelligence-powered solutions for deriving actionable information from humongous video data, solving real-world problems and making the world smarter, safer and happier.

How do you envisage your solutions contributing to the nation’s initiatives to achieve smart mobility?

Our comprehensive, AI-powered Traffic Management System (TMS) goes beyond simply detecting traffic violations and capturing vehicle license plates. It offers complete solutions aimed at enhancing road safety for citizens on streets, highways, and tunnels, while also empowering authorities to make informed decisions using real-time data insights.

India’s road and highway network is expanding at a rapid pace, but this fast-tracked development also highlights hazards that can lead to accidents. Our AI-powered solutions are designed to detect these risks and provide timely alerts.

Our Traffic Management System (TMS) identifies negligent driving behaviours such as speeding, poor lane discipline, driving in the wrong direction, stopping in prohibited zones, overloaded trucks, and other traffic rule violations. It also accounts for additional threats to road safety, including adverse weather conditions, pedestrians, and stray animals. With advanced AI capabilities, our Traffic Management System continuously monitors these conditions and informs authorities in real time.

Beyond detecting violations and unsafe road behaviours, the Videonetics Traffic Management System (TMS) offers in-depth traffic flow analysis based on vehicle attributes like registration type (commercial, private, etc.), class (heavy vehicles, cars, two-wheelers, etc.), color, and the legibility of license plates. The system allows authorities to compare data across different time periods—days, weeks, or months—to track and analyse evolving traffic patterns in the city.

We are continuously striving to strengthen the AI capabilities of our TMS applications, while developing a robust ecosystem and seamless integrations with IoT sensors and third-party systems.

Implementation Challenges:

Implementing these solutions on both existing road infrastructure and greenfield projects is not without challenges. Key obstacles include the absence of fast data communication networks, non-standardized license plate formats, inconsistent road layouts, and high implementation costs.

We are continuously striving to strengthen the AI capabilities of our TMS applications, while developing a robust ecosystem and seamless integrations with IoT sensors and third-party systems.
