Melbourne Airport unveils $300m expansion plan

A $300m expansion plan unveiled by Melbourne Airport will include the building of a new terminal and an improved motorway access. Terminal 4, the new terminal, is expected to handle about 10 million passengers annually and will service two airlines – Jetstar and Tiger Airways with the existing freight services and aircraft parking services being moved south of the airport. The expansion and development plan also includes improving road access, widened roads, a new multi-level car park, new baggage facilities and additional arrival / departure gates. A new airport train passing through Airport Drive will take passengers directly to the international terminal.
