The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has signed an agreement with L&T for design and construction of 237 km length of viaduct between Vapi (Zaroli Village at Maharashtra- Gujarat Border) and Vadodara in Gujarat for 508 kms of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail
corridor. Upon completion, the highspeed rail will operate at a speed of 320 kmph, covering the entire distance in approximately two hours with limited
stops and in 3 hours with all stops. The project is expected to bring in major social and economic developments, employment generation and demand for construction material and equipment.

Larsen & Turbo has also bagged the contract to construct India’s longest road bridge across river Brahmaputra connecting Dhubri in Assam to Phulbari in Meghalaya. The 19km long bridge would improve the connectivity of the North Eastern States with the rest of the country and establish a vital link between Assam and Meghalaya by reducing the distance between the two States by 250 km.
