The 28th International ARRB Conference

Scheduled to be held from April 29 – May 2, the 28th International Australian Road Research Board Conference will connect researchers, practitioners, academia and industry to discuss “Next Generation Connectivity”. The event for the transport industry will take place after the commonwealth games in buzzing Brisbane.

The conference focusses on the future of a connected Australia in transport & infrastructure. The conference addresses pressing issues like: “Is Australia ready for Automated Vehicles, how does big data affect transport safety and what does the pavement of tomorrow look like”?

“ARRB has realigned to understand our stakeholder’s specific needs and shaped ARRB to better deliver Australia’s transport future,” explains CEO Michael Caltabiano, “This conference is a platform for world-renowned experts to discuss the latest transport & infrastructure innovations and technologies, and for maximising the total economic and social benefits of road infrastructure.”

The Australian Road Research Board has earned a reputation for independent, scientific integrity and professional excellence. Presentations will be made on a diverse range of areas like Intelligent Roads, Future of Asset Management, Disruptive Technologies, Platforms and Services, Smart Journeys and Human Factors of Transport.

Following ARRB2018 is the 8th Symposium on Pavement Surface Characteristics (SURF 2018). The theme of the Symposium is ‘Vehicle to Road Connectivity’. The program includes a range of technical sessions and interactive panel discussions involving both local and international experts.
