C-DAC Thiruvananthapuram has deployed Wi-TraC, a wireless traffic signal controller developed by it, at one of the busy junctions in Thiruvanthapuram on a trial basis. If this proves successful, the problems posed by the conventional traffic signal controllers might become a thing of the past.

The implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems on Pune’s roads has led to an increase in commuting speed and traffic volume and has reduced the travel time, traffic congestion and fuel consumption. Dubbed ‘CGRAPS’ and funded by the Pune Municipal Corporation, the project has been developed by CDAC Thiruvananthapuram under the JnNURM scheme.
