It is powered by a 15W POP photovoltaic cell and also has a 7.5Ah sealed maintenance-free battery as a power backup and for storage. It can run continuously for five days on a fully charged battery. The cabinet is MS powder coated, making the housing weather resistant and giving it a long life. It has a tamper-proof design to protect against thefts of the solar panel and battery. It has a microprocessor based controller which increases its energy efficiency. The blinker is used mainly at highway intersections, accident prone zones, railway crossings, access controlled locations and check posts.
