India’s logistics cost is expected to drop to 9 per cent of GDP by April 2025 which will likely boost exports, announced Union Minister Nitin Gadkari recently. However, according to quick estimates of National Council of Applied Economic Research, the logistics cost in India ranged from 7.8 per cent to 8.9 per cent of GDP in 2021-22. The Minister noted that India is the fastest growing major economy, and the Government has been working hard to make it the third largest economy in the world.
