Mumbai Eastern Freeway tunnel nears completion

Lining and excavation work on the 580-meter long second tunnel at Anik on the Eastern Freeway in Mumbai is progressing fast and is expected to be completed by this December. After this the 4-lane tunnel will be provided with a drainage system, road surfacing, electrification and ventilation. The other tunnel at Anik was opened for traffic along with the inauguration of Eastern Freeway earlier this year. Work on the 2.81-km long Panjarpol-Ghatkopar Link Road, the remaining part of the Eastern Freeway is also scheduled to be finished by December.
