Integrated highway hub planned for South Bengal

Bengal Shristi Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd, promoted jointly by Asansol Durgapur Development Authority (ADDA), Govt. of West Bengal and Shristi Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd, is building an integrated highway hub at Raniganj in South Bengal. The area has been witnessing a rapid pace of urbanisation. This urbanisation has led to a great increase in the volume of freight traffic. Spread over 24 acres, the project will include a Transport Terminal and a Logistic Centre, planned and designed by Innate Architects. The transport and logistics hub will have ample space and facilities for loading and unloading, a weigh bridge with a modern weighing system and a service station catering to a wide range of vehicles. Supporting infrastructure facilities being created include banks, ATMs, car parking and parking provisions for 125 trucks and resting and refreshment areas for truck drivers. The transportation system to and from the hub has been designed for smooth, safe traffic flow and to avoid congestion, with wide, well-laid metalled roads and 24×7 security arrangements.
