Gatso receives approval for new traffic camera

A new series of traffic enforcement cameras, the T-Series Statio cameras from the Netherlands based Gatsometer BV, which combine red light enforcement with speed enforcement, has been approved by the Netherlands Institute for Metrology and Technology. The technology detects both red-light and speed offences, and captures high resolution images and videos of the violating vehicles. A compact 20-megapixel GT20 camera and CMOS sensor help in capturing clear images of fast moving vehicles, as well as a 30fps (frame per second) full-frame video capture with high photosensitivity in order to allow the recording of multiple violations under all light conditions. The T-Series uses the RT3 tracking radar to continuously measure the speed and position of up to 12 vehicles simultaneously in the coverage area. It also detects multiple concurrent violations, including speeding, unlike conventional across-the-road radar systems. Gatso recently secured two Dutch contracts for 237 combined speed and red-light enforcement cameras.
