Dimapur-Zuba Rail Link in Nagaland by 2015

The Central Government has proposed to complete the long awaited Dimapur-Zuba rail project in Nagaland by March 2015. Kohima, the capital of the state, is at present connected with the rest of the country only by highways. The proposed Greenfield Chiethu airport at Kohima, though, may take much longer to see the light of the day. No date for its completion has been mentioned till now. The र1,231 crore proposed project has plans for a 2.2km long runway. Two other Greenfield airports in the north-east are the Itanagar airport which is complete, and the Gangtok Pakyong Airport in Sikkim which is likely to be completed by 2012.
