Delhi Metro to educate commuters

Frequent untoward incidents on the Delhi Metro have prompted the Metro authorities to conduct two-hour educational tours of the Metro. The programme – Know your Metro – to be conducted in batches, would comprise briefing commuters about the emergency system as well as other aspects of station and train management. Selected batches of passengers will be taken through the paces of its module on passenger response during emergency situations. The module of the programme covers topics such as functioning of the emergency trip switch, fare collection system, tunnel/station ventilation, fire detection system, environment control system and emergency exit system.
